Waverly Elementary School
Dear Students, Parents, and Community Members,
Welcome to Waverly Avenue Elementary School’s website! I am very proud to be the principal of this fine school and build on its long tradition of excellence. The teachers and staff at Waverly have a spectacular reputation for promoting a love of learning among the students.
Waverly Avenue Elementary School hosts UPK through fifth grade and educates over 500 students mostly from the communities of Holtsville and Farmingville. We focus on academics, arts, and social-emotional learning, and Waverly graduates move onto Sagamore Middle School as well-rounded learners. We believe that all students can excel, and our goal is to help each and every student achieve her or his potential.
The Waverly PTA serves as a great support to our school community. From field trips to school supplies, to the many fun-filled events that sponsor helping to strengthen the home-school connection, we are frequently reminded of how fortunate we are to have such a fine group of dedicated parents working together for the benefit of our students. Please be aware that PTA notices sent home with the students are posted on their website at http://www.waverlyavepta.com. I encourage you to visit this website from time to time to remain informed of all the wonderful events they plan throughout the school year.
As the school year is underway, I look to build on the successes of the past as well as the relationships that have been established. It is of upmost importance that students, teachers, and parents work together and function as one to ensure that our children are provided with the best possible educational opportunities. I encourage you to reach out to your child’s teacher whenever you may have questions or concerns and trust that you will work together to keep these lines of communication open throughout the year.
As I look forward to an exciting school year, I hope that you all make an effort to attend many of our wonderful events. Please also be assured that I am always available to answer any questions you may have. Feel free to call the office at (631) 654-8690 at any time.
